Sui, Start Here

Updated 2026-10-29

Short answer: Sui is a fast, low-fee blockchain designed for apps and games. Its coin is SUI. Addresses are 0x followed by 64 characters, longer than Ethereum's, and the two are not interchangeable.

How it's different

  • On Sui, everything you own (coins, NFTs, tokens) is an object linked to your address.
  • Fees are paid in SUI and are usually tiny. Part of the fee for storing data can be refunded when that data is removed later.
  • Some apps let you sign in with an existing account (such as Google) instead of a seed phrase. That's convenient, but read how recovery works before you keep much there.

Wallets

Wallets such as Slush (from the team behind Sui) and Suiet support Sui. Write down the recovery phrase and keep it offline.

Watch out

  • Never send to a Sui address from an Ethereum wallet or the reverse; the formats look similar but they're different chains.
  • Scam coins and NFTs are dropped into wallets with "claim" links. Don't visit them.
  • Read what you sign, especially on new apps: how to read a transaction before you sign.
