Why your Flare rewards expire, and how not to lose them

Updated 2026-10-27

Short answer: Flare keeps rewards claimable for a limited number of reward epochs, roughly 90 days. After that, unclaimed rewards are gone for good. Checking once a month is enough to never lose any.

Why they expire

Rewards on Flare and Songbird are set aside each reward epoch (about 3.5 days). To keep the system lean, the reward contracts only hold rewards for a fixed number of recent epochs. When an old epoch drops out of that window, whatever nobody claimed from it can't be claimed any more.

How to see your deadline

  1. Open My Rewards, paste your address and press Check my rewards.
  2. In the Rewards tab, the Expires column shows when the oldest unclaimed reward runs out. Rewards close to their deadline are listed first.
  3. If anything is close, claim it.

A routine that works

  • Once a month: check, then claim. Delegation keeps earning between claims, so you lose nothing by waiting a few weeks.
  • Claim into WFLR if you want the rewards to start earning too.
  • Keep a little FLR (not wrapped) for network fees, so a claim never fails for lack of gas.

Watch out

  • "Your rewards expire in 24 hours, claim now" messages from strangers, airdrop accounts or unknown sites are scams. Check the real deadline yourself.
  • We never message you first and never ask for your seed phrase. Nobody legitimate does.
