Songbird, Start Here
Updated 2026-10-29
Short answer: Songbird is Flare's "canary network": new Flare features run here first, with real value at stake, before they reach Flare. Its coin is SGB. It works with the same 0x addresses and wallets (MetaMask, Bifrost) as Flare.
Earning with SGB
It works like Flare:
- Wrap SGB into WSGB, one for one.
- Delegate WSGB to one or two data providers. Your coins stay in your wallet, with no lock-up.
- Claim your rewards regularly; unclaimed rewards expire after about 90 days.
Step by step, the Flare guides apply to Songbird too: wrap and delegate, claim delegation rewards and why rewards expire.
Good to know
- SGB is a smaller market than FLR: fewer exchanges list it, and prices can move sharply.
- Changes arrive here first. Features can be tested, adjusted or switched off on Songbird before they reach Flare.
Watch out
- Fake claim sites and "support" DMs. Claim through the official Flare Portal or a tool that uses the network's own contracts.
- Old approvals from early Songbird apps: check and revoke them: how to check and revoke token approvals.
On Crypto Lighthouse
[My Rewards](/rewards) finds Songbird rewards to claim before they expire, wraps, delegates, checks approvals and sends with address checks; the [Portfolio](/portfolio) shows your SGB and tokens. See also Flare, start here.
